Ian Tyler Sunday 11th July What does it mean to be the body of Christ?

The core passage 1 Cor 12 v 12-31

Key truths :-

We are not all the same - different gifts, characters, calling

We are interdependent/connected - e.g. if I am in good relationship with God it blesses the wider body but also vice versa Achan's sin in Joshua 7 was used as a warning

We have all been put there by God - it is not an accident

We are one body because of His Spirit

How we might respond to these truths:-

Spend time together

Suffer with those who are suffering and celebrate with those who have something to celebrate

Financial support to one another eg Acts 4

Pray for one another

These are all signs of a healthy body.
