Helpful advice for parents 

Chat Health 0-5 Text messaging advice service provided by health visitors in Hertfordshire, for all parents/carers of children aged 0-5 years.  Text with any query or concern about your child's development.

Are you worried about your child's speech & language skills?
  Look up the Herts Speech & Language website.  They have run a drop in clinic in various locations throughout the week - no appointment necessary (Hertford County Hospital sessions are currently every other Friday 9am - 11am)  Check the current dates here

Talking Point  A helpful website, which includes a Progress Tracker which helps you see whether you should be seeking extra support for your child at their current stage of development 

Oxford Owl  This is a helpful website to assist with communication and pronunciation of letter sounds

Bookstart - tips on reading with your child

Keeping your children safe online - a guide for families with children under 5

Health for Kids  Health related information aimed at 4 to 11 year olds

Children's Oral Health  Advice on ensuring good oral health for your children, including a 20 minute online learning session

Common Childhood Illnesses  Advice on what to look for and how to treat the most common childhood illnesses

Hertfordshire Community Trust  Lots of advice on health issues, and where to obtain further assistance in this local area

Advice on Toilet Training

HertsHelp - assistance with questions and problems.  Common issues dealt with include welfare assistance (money, food, furniture, clothing and advice), benefits (debt and budgeting advice, help filling out application forms), and crisis support (bereavement, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, serious illness, family support).  Office hours are 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday
